Welcome to Guide Kit, my site to share my resources that I have made for Guide Units and meetings. Everything listed here is not for profit and is only to be used for Guide activities. You can change things around to suit your unit, and of course, I don’t ever claim to have created the photographs, song words etc that may be amongst things. They’re all collected from the net and brought together. Images at the top of most of the items are Creative Commons from Flickr, just to add a bit of colour.
I’ve been a Guide leader for over 5 years with three different units varying from 8 to 36 guides in a unit. I find membership to various forums and other sites available on the net such as Best of Guiding UK to be invaluable. Not only do I dive into my folder of Activates (formerly published in the Guiding magazine) but I go online when seeking ideas and inspiration for evenings.
If you have an activity you would like me to put up on the site, please drop me an email BEFORE attaching your files, to tell me what its about. If its suitable, I’ll be happy to publish it. If not, I will try to give you advice on where its best to be sent, or what needs changing first.
If there is something on the site that you believe belongs to you, please let me know, and I will remove it as soon as I can. Sometimes its difficult to recall exactly the source of information if I used it several years ago. and I do make mistakes.
Most of the items do not allow comments (just to cut down on the likelihood of spam) but some posts may allow comments to feedback or to encourage suggestions. Comments are moderated.
