About
Good afternoon! to you, and thanks for dropping by.
Katigori is the website of Kate Davies, a graduate of the University of Hull (2008), in Internet Computing BSc (Hons). I studied at the smaller Scarborough campus, and spent three happy years there amongst all the guys, and came out with a first class degree.
My current job is project manager for Harmony Internet in Biggleswade, UK, where I've been since September 2008. I wear a few hats from editing websites, building them from flat, learning all I can about ASP and JS, to my new hat of marketing and search engine optimisation. I am regularly found making notes on my 'shares', which are the Google Analytics for all our clients.
Strengths and Training
Currently my strengths lie in copywriting, seo, html, css, standards compliance, accessibility and keeping clients happy. If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does, and ensure they get back to you. Happy to talk you through our aftersales system by phone, or answer your query and website edit by email.
I'm training wherever I can in javascript and ASP, with a little venture into ASP.NET when I can. As well as strengthening my SEO and marketing skills with self-learning. My newest area of training is in mobile web design, which is a company growth area.
Previous Roles
My previous roles have ranged from librarian assistant, marketing assistant, lunchtime supervisor for a junior school, IT technical support and also being Student Union Academic Issues Officer for my university campus, receiving an award for volunteering from both the Union, and Millennium Volunteers, before being awarded honourary lifelong membership for my efforts.
Spare Time
In my spare time, I am a Guide Leader with Girlguiding UK, which means organising evenings, outings, camps, fun and informative activities for girls between 10-14 years old. We recently took part in a national initiative and raised over £400 for Asthma UK, and were able to present the cheque to a lady from the charity at our celebration.
I am also returning to volunteering at the Elisabeth Curtis Centre on a regular basis after returning from university and entering full time employment again. The centre is affiliated with Riding for the Disabled. During the past few years I have produced flyers and other promotional material for the charity to support events and recruitment.
Other hobbies include running and participating in online writing role playing forums (communal writing it is best described as), playing the piano, and stretching into odd positions as part of a pilates course.
